Codesign Verification failure

Postby MyGunJammed » Tue May 17, 2011 1:34 am

I do not believe this is a Nimblekit problem, but I need some troubleshooting from anyone that might understand this issue. I have been trying to fix this message for at least 10 hours, my head is killing me, and I'm just going to walk away from the computer for a while.

When I Archive the app for submission to Apple I get the following error message that stops me from being able to validate the program in the organizer.

Code: Select all
Application failed codesign verification.  The signature was invalid, or it was not signed with an Apple submission certificate.

Any help figuring this issue out would be greatly appreciated. I'm banging my head against the wall here.

Did you get a certificate from the developer portal? You have to have a developer license to archive and create .ipa

It can be a pain, can't it ;)

Did you go through the guide on the Apple Developer site - https://developer.apple.com/ios/manage/ ... dex.action

That error makes me want to claw my eyes out and run screaming off a bridge. I've wrestled with that over and over and over again. There's a LOT of things that can make it do that and it can be a HUGE pain to fix.

I wish I had useful advice for you, but for me that's the hardest part of iPhone app making by far and I barely have a handle on it myself.

I wish you luck.

I have not attempted to mess with the code again, but I am going to go back, retrace everything I setup and try it all over again. It is very frustrating to have an app ready to submit only to be stuck on this error message. I'll let everyone know what the problem was when I figure it out.

Your code isn't the problem. That error means there is something set up wrong with your provisioning profiles or how you have the settings or both.

I second that. Check that you have created a proper Distribution Profile in the Dev Portal. You also need to update Organizer in XCode and then finally make sure that all your Profile settings under both Project Build Settings & Target Build Settings match the same Distribution Profile on record. Finally, when you go to Archive (or Submit) you'll want to make sure that you select the same Distribution Profile.

It's a pain in the ass.

I'm stumped. Should I delete my current certs and keychain files and just start from scratch? Is that wise?
