device not connected!

Postby tmodis » Sat Nov 14, 2009 4:26 pm

Following a last ninute change of my application's name, I am no longer able to test my application on my iPhone. Redoing the device addition and certificates procedures I now get
Error Starting Executable
No provision iPhone OS device is connected

Looking in the development program user guide carefully I see that they are asking to Install Pre-release versions of iPhone OS on my device, but I was able to run my application before without doing such thing. Any ideas what's happening?

Here is some more information. When I go to xcode/window/organizer I see
xcode could not find the software image to install this version
Could not support development

Sometimes it happened to me. I solved it switching the iPhone off and on again.

you must be recently updated iPhone OS, right? if the image is not found it means that software on your iPhone is actually newer then on your computer and xcode does not know how to work with it. So just install newest version of iPhone SDK and this will be fixed

You are a life saver! I've spent two days breaking my head and did not think of trying turning the device off and on again.

But now I have another problem: it tells me that

The entitlements specified in your applications Code Signing Entitlements file do not match those in your provisioning profile

But I never created such a file and don't manage to find it anywhere. Would you have any ideas about this?

I just downloaded and installed the latest sdk and I still get the xcode/window/organizer telling me:
xcode could not find the software image to install this version

My iPhone runs software version 3.0.1(7A400). Someone advised me to launch terminal application and put in the following line:
ln -s /Developer/Platforms/iPhoneOS.platform/DeviceSupport/3.0\ \(7A341\) /Developer/Platforms/iPhoneOS.platform/DeviceSupport/3.0.1

but even after that I still get the same problem :(
